Human beings are known for a myriad of different things, but more importantly, they are known for getting better on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve under all circumstances has notably fetched us some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a major member of the stated group. The reason why technology enjoys such an esteemed stature among people is, by and large, based on its skill-set, which ushered us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look a little bit closer, it should become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and consequentially, kickstarted a tech revolution. Of course, this revolution will scale up the human from every conceivable direction, but even after achieving such a monumental feat, technology will somehow continue to deliver the right goods. The same has grown to become a more evident in recent times, and assuming a newly-formed partnership ends up having the desired impact, it will only make that trend bigger and better moving forward.
Citizens, a Rhode Island-based financial solutions company, and Mastercard have officially signed off on a partnership, which will see the latter’s technology becoming the exclusive payments network across Citizens’ credit, debit, and commercial portfolios. It’s a big deal because, by combining their well-seasoned infrastructure, these companies will be able to conceive for the consumer a greater financial access, while also bringing a host of engaging benefits and experiences to the table. But how will the stated offerings look on a more granular level? Firstly, they’ll include specialized tools and resources that a small business needs to thrive in such a competitive environment. Next up, with Mastercard’s commercial solutions also coming into play, Citizens can expect a golden opportunity to optimize and streamline business-to-business payments. Now, as if carving out a strong presence around the B2B space wasn’t enough, the partners will further invest a good chunk of their time in developing cutting-edge open banking facility. Hold on, there is more. Thanks to this collaboration, Citizen’s customers can even enjoy exclusive access to iconic events and various purpose-driven initiatives. However, before moving beyond what is already revealed, we must address a burning question of user security. Well, the organizations have been mindful about the same, and that is evident in their pledge to put-together robust authentication and fraud mitigation tools.
“Mastercard is thrilled to enhance our partnership with Citizens to become their exclusive payments provider across all product portfolios,” said Linda Kirkpatrick, president of Mastercard’s North America region. “We are proud to work with a brand that champions financial empowerment, and we look forward to bringing new products, services and capabilities to complement the strong value proposition Citizens provides to consumers and businesses.”
Understood to be one of nation’s oldest and largest financial institutions, Citizen has dedicated retail and commercial banking solutions for every type of customers, including individuals, small businesses, middle-market companies, large corporations and institutions. Some of these solutions are lending, savings, wealth management; leasing, deposit and treasury management services, foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity risk management solutions, loan syndication, and a lot more. At the moment, the organization has over 3,400 ATMs and more than 1,100 branches in 14 US states
“Citizens’ recent growth has been fueled by our development of new and innovative customer-centric capabilities,” said Brendan Coughlin, Head of Consumer Banking at Citizens. “Customer expectations around payments are rapidly increasing, and our expanded partnership with Mastercard enables us to accelerate our market position and provide customers with industry-leading solutions and experiences.”
