Human beings tend to excel in many different areas, and yet our greatest ability is, by and far, the one that allows us to grow on a consistent basis. This progressive tendency has notably managed to bring us some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a major member of the stated group. The reason why technology enjoys such an esteemed stature among people is largely predicated upon its skill-set, which ushered us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we dig a little deeper, it should become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and consequentially, kickstarted a tech revolution. Of course, this revolution then went on to scale up the human experience from all conceivable directions, but even after achieving such a monumental feat, technology will somehow continue to deliver the goods. The same has grown to become a lot more evident in recent times, and assuming a new partnership ends up working out just like envisioned, it will only make that trend bigger and better moving forward.
P97 Networks, a leading connected commerce, mobile payments, and mobility services provider, has officially partnered with Visa to scale up the payment experience for our C-Store industry. To get the ball rolling, P97 will deploy Visa’s token technology with an intention of connecting various digital wallets and cars to create a secure and outright unique payment experience for the vehicle owners. Apart from it, the partners will also collaborate to launch other dedicated solutions that belong to a similar in-car payment niche. These solutions, although not confirmed by the companies, will likely include a specialized avenue to facilitate vehicle charging across public networks, as well as solutions which focus on charging an entire fleet of vehicles.
“This collaboration underscores the powerful security that tokens provide to auto OEMs, energy brands, and issuers alike. Drivers and consumers that embrace digital payments and mobile apps tend to be more loyal and transact more frequently at the same brands,” said Ansar Ansari, SVP and Global Head of Product Platforms at Visa. “We’re excited to be teaming up with P97 Networks to accelerate mobile payment adoption.”
It must be noted that all the stated new solutions will only add to P97’s already ingenious platform. In case you are not aware, the company has been a leading provider of key computing capabilities for automobile manufacturers, capabilities that cover a host of critical aspects like payment aggregation, services aggregation so to enable EV charging across EV charging, fuelling, parking, tolling, dealership services, and even digital marketing services powered by a digital offer network and consumer engagement platform.
Talk about how P97 is able to provide such a far-reaching service network, it uses a combination of APIs to make it possible for auto OEMs to conduct monetary transactions at over 60,000 convenience retail and fuel marketing sites. However, this is still not all what P97 provides, as it also brings automotive manufacturers a deep pool of data. While some data helps the companies in developing better product for their customers, there are a few details that directly enhance the vehicle owner experience. The said information includes data about a retail site, with available details ranging from real-time gas prices and hours of operation to amenities offered and customer reviews.
“We’ve seen our connected commerce and mobile solutions become more embedded within our customers’ digital marketing and loyalty programs to drive growth and operational efficiency,” said Donald Frieden, CEO of P97 Networks. “In order to accelerate the adoption of mobile commerce, it’s critical for us to continue enhancing the payment experience for consumers and drivers, and our joint effort with Visa is a significant step towards that vision.”
